Ever since an idea for a software platform earned him a trip to NASA to discuss a project, Ian Klasky has known he’d be working with data. He has a passion for applying mathematical models to complex problems, and he’s getting plenty of opportunities to do just that at Link, where he’s helping to source deals through our proprietary data analysis platform.

After finishing his undergraduate work, he started on the journey to a PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Colorado – Boulder but realized (thankfully for us) that academia wasn’t the right fit. Since then, he’s worked with data collection algorithms and machine learning. He came to Link from SmarterTravel, one of our portfolio companies.

Ian grew up split between the Eastern and Western seaboards - Florida, California, Oregon, and Connecticut – and has a B.A. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Bowdoin. When he’s not working, he loves to play Ultimate Frisbee and Disc Golf with friends.
