Rob Chaplinsky has been investing in technology startups for over 20 years and is an entrepreneur and operating executive. Prior to Link Ventures, Rob co-founded silicon valley based venture capital firm Bridgescale Partners , sales management software company Kiita.ai, and software user interface company Typesoft which was acquired by Apple in 2014. Over his two decade venture capital career, Rob has managed multiple venture capital funds totaling over $1B in assets spanning all segments of the technology industry. Some of Rob's investments include elearning SaaS company Axonify, workforce management SaaS company Dayforce/Ceridian (NYSE: CDAY), metrology company Form Factor (NASDAQ FORM), Internet of Things company Jasper (acquired by Cisco NASDAQ: CSCO), intellectual property company Pivotal Technologies (acquired by Broadcom NASDAQ:BRCM), security software company Proofpoint (NASDAQ PFPT), semiconductor company Quake Technologies (acquired by AMCC, NASDAQ: AMCC), work force management SaaS company Rypple (acquired by Salesforce.com NYSE: CRM), online photo sharing company Shutterfly (NYSE: SFLY), marketing research SaaS company Vision Critical (sold to private equity firm) and compensation management SaaS company Xactly (NYSE: XTLY).
Rob is currently on the advisory board of the Engineering School for The University of Waterloo and on the advisory board for IBM's Spark technology council.
Prior to forming Bridgescale, Rob was a general partner Mohr Davidow Ventures and prior to that worked in various marketing positions at Intel Corporation. Rob has a B. Sc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
